Assignment #6

1. I like to be scared. It is fun to feel like you have no control over what happens. I ok with being scared a safe area where nothing can actually go really wrong. I also like going into haunted houses and watching scary movies.

2. I am really scared of clowns! They freak me out. I don't understand why they wear so much makeup and they never stop smiling. They don't smile in a normal way they smile with a creepy grin and it makes me really uncomfortable. I just recently saw the movie IT and it just reconfirmed my fears. I am also afraid of looking in mirrors at night. I think I have watched way too many scary movies and when I look in the mirror in the dark I always expect something to pop up behind me so I never look into mirrors at night. I am also afraid of going to my car at night because I think someone is in my back seat so I check that before I get into the car. That kind of started after I heard the ghost story of the guy in the back seat of the car that pops out with a knife. Subtle things scare me more than blood and guts I don't mind gory things.

3. In my opinion the definition for madness is when someone is driven to the dark side of their sanity and goes against things that are good and starts to become evil.

4. I think people drive themselves mad. People are very good at imagining things and when they allow themselves to believe those illusions is when they go mad. I believe that people are their own worst enemies and they are responsible for what goes on with themselves.

Assignment # 5

1. Sitting on his rocking, chair holding his cat Fuzzel, staring at the door is Howard Wilson.

2. Bang! Bang! "let us in, we know you're in there" . With glazed over eyes Howard Wilson held on to his cat and focused on the lock on the door that he hoped would not fail him. That was the last time anyone ever saw Howard Wilson.

3. As Becky came to her patient Howard Wilson's house she noticed something very odd, the door was opened. In all of the years she had known him he had never left the door open.

4. Mr. Wilson was a slightly excentric man. Knowing this many people dismissed pretty much everything that he said. Those people who didn't listen are responsible for his death.

5. "What do you know about the dissapearence of a Mr. Howard Wilson?"

Assignment 4

I really did not like the story that we read last night because it was depressing. I thought that it gave me a weird feeling when reading it and all I wanted was Connie to get out of the situation that there was way out of.

Task 1:

A) The setting in the second half of the story was at first in her room then outside with the creepy guy. I thought that was important because she got what she said she wanted. She was away from her family and she got male attention. I think that she realized that you need to be careful for what you wish for because that ended up being a bad situation.
B) Connie's character drove me in because I thought she was stupid. I wanted to find out what was going to happen next because I was hoping she would realize that she was wrong and in the end I think that she figured it out. I don't think that she asked for it. There are tons of girls that do the same stuff she did and they just want to have fun not be raped.
C) The main conflict in the story is between Connie and her mother. I really think if Connie had a better relationship with her mom things wouldn't have happened.
D)This story draws people in because they can relate to the character of Connie. She has many sides that could attract many readers. She might also be an advisory to girls who are being too quick to grow up.
E) I think in the end Connie gets raped.
F)I think that the creepy was really good at messing with Connie's mind. He was really condescending and he just kept talking. He probably had a troubled child hood. That's the only conclusion for how he got so creepy. I really don't think that has anything to do with society. Of course that type of thing happens all of the time but not enough that it has to do with society.

Task 2:
  1. an exciting attention grabber.
  2. action throughout the whole story.
  3. rateable characters.
  4. a possible scenario.
  5. not too long.
  6. not too short.
  7. delivers point clearly.
  8. no flash backs.
  9. keeps you guessing.
  10. no difficult words.

  1. 2.
